Memorandum of Understanding
In order to create synergy effect in advancing the science and practice of Hepatology, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) and the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to create a strategic alliance. This Memorandum of Understanding serves as a foundation to formalize a mutually beneficial relationship that will facilitate the achievement of common goals shared by the two societies.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Professor Scott L. Friedman, 56th President of the AASLD and Professor George K.K. Lau, 18th President of the APASL, on 14 February 2009, at the Opening Ceremony of the 19th Conference of the APASL which was held in Hong Kong.
